AISI 302 and 304 steel is an austenitic, unhardened steel. 302&304 SS balls are tough, resistant to corrosion by oxidizing and sterilizing solutions, foodstuffs and almost all organic substances, and may be annealed to obtain stronger corrosion-resistance. 302 &304 SS balls are commonly used in all valve applications, especially in the chemical and food-processing industries.
AISI 316 Stainless Steel Balls
AISI 316 steel is an austenitic steel with higher tensile strength than AISI 302 and AISI 304 stainless steel. Balls made of AISI 316 stainless steel can meet the requirements of unhardened and non-magnetic balls with excellent toughness and resistance to corrosion. Corrosion resistance can be increased through annealing. Both non-annealed and annealed balls are widely used in valves and related equipment.
AISI 316L stainless steel can also be used to produce steel balls. AISI 316L stainless steel has the same properties as AISI 316 SS, except that it has a lower carbon content than regular AISI 316. It is also easier to machine.Applications include phosphate industry parts, tensile finishing equipment, printing equipment, body jewelry and valve industries.
AISI 420 Stainless Steel Balls
AISI 420 stainless steel is magnetic and hardenable with fair corrosion resistance. So AISI 420 stainless steel balls offer good hardness and surface finish.AISI 420 stainless steel balls are used for applications requiring resistance to corrosion from water, steam, air and gasoline. But AISI 420 stainless steel balls resistance to most chemical solutions is not that good.
AISI 430 Stainless Steel Balls
AISI 430 stainless steel is an austenitic and heating resisting steel with corrosion resistance superior to other chromium nickel stainless steels in many types of chemical corrodents as well as marine atmospheres. AISI 430 stainless steel balls can meet requirements for an unhardened and magnetic ball with excellent toughness and annealed balls are widely used in valves and related equipment.Applications include phosphate industry parts, textile finishing equipment, printing equipment, body jewelry and valve industries.
AISI 440C Stainless Steel Balls
AISI 440C stainless steel balls afford the advantage of maximum hardness combined with corrosive-resisting properties. This hardness, together with precise geometry and fine surface finish, makes them especially useful for both bearing and valve applications in petroleum refineries and other severe environmental applications.AISI 440C stainless steel balls are uniformly hardened and tempered throughout their entire diameter to achieve maximum strength and quality. Ball hardness is HRC 58~65 as is measured on parallel flat surfaces. Also, AISI 440C stainless steel balls are magnetic. Customized heat treatment is available for special hardness requirements.
